Hi kleake,

I presume you meant our OBD 2007 Lite. If you have made a connection with the Elm time out set at 500ms, then I would suggest that you now start reducing the time out back towards 100ms until the point where you can't make a connection, then go back one setting to the last setting that made a successful connection. The issue is neither software or hardware, but your particular vehicle, that is why the setting is adjustable. Most vehicles will connect at 100ms, but it is not unusual to have to set the time out to a higher figure. The lower the time out value the better, because then you are not wasting cycles and should get maximum output of pids read per sec.

OBD 2007 Lite is a free product, if you would like download out commercial product OBD 2007 or take a look at the screen shots and the comparison table under the menu item Overview on our website. OBD 2007 fully supports all services of the OBDII specification. The evaluation version of OBD 2007 is fully functional, limited only by our 7 day activation license.

If you have any further questions, please contact me here or directly at support@glmsoftware.com

Regards
Graham McKechnie
GLM Software
www.glmsoftware.com

chalky78 wrote on 04/30/10 at 08:56:14:

Hello,

Does anyone know how I would go about sending a CAN message (atsp6) that is longer than 8 bytes??

I've tried turning auto formatting off with atcaf0 then writing my own PCI bytes for the multiline message.

I need to send the following CAN message (which is too long I know) with header 745:

08 3B 08 57 37 6E AE 31 E3

The way I understood you is that I need to send the following two commands: (this is with ATCAF0 and atsh745 beforehand)

745 10 08 3B 08 57 37 6E AE - first frame

the rest of the message is then:

745 21 31 E3 - second frame

I have inserted the PCI bytes myself (10 and 21). I've left the remaining 00 00 00 00 00 from the end of the second part as I understand the ELM inserts these.

---

I think it may be that I am not responding to the flow control message sent FROM the vehicle.

I think the vehicle sends a flow control message which is:

765 30 03 14

---

This is done under computer control so it should be fast enough.

Thanks for any help that can be given!!

So it looks like you're trying to write to data block 08 on an Escape Hybrid Battery Controller? What do you get when you do a mode $3C read for data block $08?

Why do you think that the flow control would come from 765? Seems like it should come from $74D?

OBDPro Serial, USB & Bluetooth Scantool - Compatibility - JDM 2002 350z

since it is a JDM import it is hard to tell, most likely it should work.

You have two options

1. Since we offer a money back guarantee you can just try it out or

2. If you have a murrays or pep boys that offers a scantool check out service, get one of the generic scantools and see if it will read data on your vehicle, if it does than our scantool will work.
